LANCOM Systems is the leading German manufacturer of reliable, innovative network solutions for the commercial and public sectors. As specialists for high-security network connectivity (VPN) for enterprises and the public sector, and also for the wireless networking (WLAN) of public and corporate applications, in recent years we have developed into one of the leading suppliers in Europe.

What we do

For more than 10 years, the award-winning products and solutions from LANCOM Systems have been successfully established on the market, with over a million products installed. In Germany we already count to the top 3 suppliers to specialist resellers in the segment for routers and wireless LAN.

LANCOM Systems GmbH is headquartered in Würselen near Aachen, Germany and has sales offices in Munich, Barcelona and Amsterdam.

Traditionally, the hardware and software for all LANCOM products are developed and tested in Germany, where the vast majority of our products are also manufactured. In the process, customer feedback plays a key role in the creation and design of new products, as do the specific demands of the German and European markets.

Like the LANCOM operating system, LCOS, the Management System is also developed directly by LANCOM Systems and ensures a high level of user friendliness – for everybody – across the entire range of products. Our free update service provides new features and updated software – even for our earlier products.

 

Network Connectivity.

With fully integrated solutions offering uniform network management, LANCOM supplies all necessary components from a single source: High-performance VPN routers, VPN central-site gateways, switches, a variety of clients, and options including secure web-content filtering. LANCOM technology interconnects sites and integrates mobile users over wireline, WLAN or 3G/4G connections, all secured by VPN based on the high-security IPSec standard.

LANCOM products facilitate the professional networking of enterprises, subsidiaries and home offices while meeting the highest demands on quality, availability and security.

2004

  • First 802.11n Outdoor Access Point worldwide (LANCOM OAP-310agn)
  • First business VPN router worldwide with UMTS/ADSL2+ and integrated GPS anti-theft protection: LANCOM 1751 UMTS
2009
  • Winner of the IT Innovation Award in the category "Storage / Networks" (LANCOM OAP-310agn Wireless)
  • Channel Champions 2009: Winner in the category "telecommunications", second in the category "Networks”
  • Finalist at Wireless Broadband Innovation Award 2009 in the category "Best Wireless Broadband Security Innovation" (LANCOM 1751 UMTS)

2010
  • German Chancellor Angela Merkel pays a visit to LANCOM during her traditional CeBIT walkabout to learn more about the potentials of LANCOM Outdoor Wireless LAN as a “Last-Mile” alternative in rural areas.
  • The LANCOM L-320agn is shortlisted as “Best ICT Product of the year 2010” by funkschau, a leading German ICT magazine.
2011
  • More than 20 new products within the router-segement, incl. industry- and outdoor versions
  • 1 million products have been sold by LANCOM by october 2011
2012
  • LANCOM is -after 2010 and 2011- also in 2012 Preferred Vendor of the category "Networks" of Channel Partner magazine
  • LANCOM celebrates its 10th birthday on May 10, 2012
  • LANCOM expands its management board. At the side of founder and Managing Director Ralf Koenzen, Stefan Herrlich takes on the responsibility for Sales.
2013
  • Germans minister of Interior, Dr. Friedrich visits LANCOM Systems at CeBIT 2013
  • LANCOM is -after 2010, 2011 & 2012 also in 2013 Preferred Vendor of the category "Networks" of Channel Partner magazine

Wireless LAN.

WLAN solutions from LANCOM are based on the very latest WLAN standards to provide maximum security (WPA2, 802.1x, RADIUS authentication), speed (802.11n with 300 Mbps), reliability, and availability.

LANCOM offers an extensive range of wireless networking solutions: From conventional indoor WLAN access points to the highly robust models for industrial and outdoor applications, and also specialized hotspot solutions for Internet guest-access accounts. High-performance wireless LAN controllers provide efficiency in WLAN management and they enforce the highest standards of security.

Furthermore, LANCOM outdoor access points have become established as economical alternatives for the provision of broadband to rural areas (WLAN bridge links & wireless distribution systems).
